Job description
Finance & People Manager
Location: Bucharest, Romania
Reports To: Office Director, Greenpeace Romania
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Role purpose
Greenpeace Romania is seeking a confident, versatile Finance & People Manager who enjoys wearing many hats: overseeing office administration, finance coordination, HR processes and organisational development.
This is a strategic role in a small but dynamic nonprofit team, ideal for someone who thrives in a generalist position and has a strong grasp of budgeting and financial oversight, alongside people operations.
As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you will work closely with the Office Director, Head of Campaigns and Head of Comms to strengthen internal systems and foster a resilient, inclusive and supportive workplace culture. A key part of this role is shaping and developing Greenpeace Romania’s organisational culture, making sure it reflects our values of courage, collaboration, equity and integrity.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Keep our finances on track - budgets, forecasts, payments, reports and making sure we comply with Romanian nonprofit rules.
Be the go-to person for People & Culture - from recruitment and onboarding to staff development, well-being and performance.
Shape our organisational culture - help us grow as a fair, supportive and values-driven workplace.
Support the SMT - bring HR and finance insights into key decisions and strategy.
Make things work better - improve systems, workflows and digital tools so our team spends less time on admin and more time on impact.
